2008 V-Strom 650 for sale
-- BIKE HAS BEEN SOLD. On to Thailand! --
My wife and I are moving to Thailand next month, and so the time has unfortunately come to sell my bike. I bought it brand new from Santa Barbara Motorsports in May 2008. It’s in great shape, with 16,2XX miles (as of this writing). Installed new tires in August at 14,400 miles. It’s got a lot of goodies:
- Givi crash bars
- Adventure Motostuff skid plate
- Flush mount front turn signals; clear lenses all around
- Off road pegs (have originals too)
- JC Whitney trunk (cheap, but it works)
- Suzuki center stand
- Suzuki handguards
- Fork brace
- Forks lowered 10mm for handling
- Heated grips (wiring iffy)
- Madstad bracket (for easy windshield adjustment)
- Intiminator fork valves (not yet installed)
I picked up a set of Intiminators after reading how much they improve handling, but unfortunately that was just before we decided to move to Thailand. I never got around to installing them, so they’re new in box along with the necessary fork oil. They cost about $200. Here’s a review.
I installed a set of heated grips (the solid kind that slip inside the handlebar) shortly after buying the bike, and they’ve been my favorite mod. Unfortunately, I didn’t do a very good crimping job and so the connection to the power (spliced off the horn) is intermittent. Running a wire all the way through to the fuse box was on next winter’s to-do list, but at any rate it’s a simple fix.
I have a clean title in hand and registration is current. Because of the impending move, I will accept any reasonable offer. I am in Mission Viejo, CA (south Orange County).
