So Jade and I both have new toys we had to play with. She got this awesome metal headdress at Tribal Caravan, and I picked up a set of the new Gadget Infinity RF flash triggers (v2). So she posed, and I snapped away with my (newly wireless) flashes! So far the RF triggers have worked perfectly with no misfires or failure to fire. And I tested them all the way up to 1/250. I'll try 1/500 next time.
Great party last night at CAF - the Contemporary Arts Forum in Paseo Nuevo. My old housemate and friend Liz Lovero's birthday had everyone raiding their closets for flannel, backpacks and Air Jordans. With a keg of Biersch and the likes of Soul Asylum and STP on the sound system, the 90's were back!
I ran into a bunch of old friends from my Isla Vista days. There was even an appearance by the great Larry Gipe, art professor extraordinaire, who I haven't seen in ages.

So, in case you were wondering, this is what happens when a can of spray paint explodes two feet in front of your face.
I was hammering away in the shop at work when a precariously balanced can of satin black toppled and fell right into the path of my oncoming hammer. It happened so quick I didn't have time to stop my swing...
You can see a line above my eye - that's where the paint was deflected by my glasses! They were totally black afterwards, and I had to clean them very carefully with 409 to get all the paint off without scratching the polycarbonate lenses.
Took me 30 minutes in the shower to get the worst of it off. My arm's still covered.
