Canonet Cross Processed

Canon Canonet, Fuji Reala 100, Cross Processed in E-6

Jade and I went up to San Francisco a couple weeks ago to visit some good friends. I shot a roll on the new Canonet and had the negatives processed into slides - I didn't really know what I was doing, though, since they all turned out bright blue and underexposed. I fiddled with em in Adobe Lightroom by adding a split tone to them which helped with the overwhelming blueness. The negs/slides sure look cool, though!

Lubitel on Ilford Delta 100

Here's a few shots from the Lubitel:

My new film habit

So, I'm of the new generation of photographers who started on digital. But recently I've caught the film bug (much to my wallet's dismay). This is my collection so far:

From left to right: Holga, Lubitel 166, Canon Canonet QL17 GIII

I love shooting square format, but there's no way to do that properly with digital. The Holga and the Lubitel allow me to shoot square on medium format film. The Canonet I just bought, but the first roll was somewhat disappointing. Everyone seems to praise the 40mm f/1.7 lens as being very sharp, but my test roll came out quite soft. I'm hoping the rangefinder just needs adjusting...

Stupid Landlords...

Sorry for not posting lately... our internet has been down for a week now. Ridiculous. Since it's handled through our landlord, I'm at the mercy of his efforts (or lack thereof) to get it back up and running...

On the plus side I'm sitting on a huge backlog of good images, so there'll be lots of good stuff later.

Colorful night

Went out last week with Greg Lawler to shoot some night stuff. Here's one:

The clouds over Santa Barbara reflected the city lights - the colors were amazing.

SB Evening

Here's a random shot taken while walking around the other evening. The light was gorgeous....

Holga Night Shots!

So, finally bought a Holga and ran a roll of Fuji Acros 100 through it to test it's night shooting prowess. I'm very satisfied! I rigged a double-tripod of sorts (using gaffers tape, of course) so I could shoot the Holga and D70 simultaneously. Here are some of the results:

Halloween weekend

So, this is belated, since my blogger software freaked out when I switched servers. Anyhow, back up and running now!

Went to the OC for a wicked Halloween party at my buddy Jeremy's house. Great times were had by all (at least that's what they tell me ; )

From top: Jade as a "Red Headed Slut" (the drink... with Jaeger); Derek as Ese; Jeremy spinning fire poi; and Jade again (for good measure).
